We now have a Clergy Care Team in our District. This idea was originated in the Orders of Elder, Deacon, and Local Pastors and has the blessing and full support of Bishop Whitaker and the Cabinet. The purpose of the Clergy Care Team is simply “To care for our Clergy when they find themselves in crisis due to personal or family circumstances.”
Each Care Team Captain has been assigned 8-10 Clergy. They have been asked to contact you once or twice a year simply to “check-in” and when needed, to follow up on any pastoral care concerns that they are made aware of by the District Superintendent or the Chair of our Clergy Care Team, Ann Hutchens. Ann has been hard at working organizing our Teams and I am grateful for her ministry! As District Superintendent, I will care for the Team Captains and our Retired Clergy.
[Click here] for a roster of our Clergy Care team and their “flock.” Every clergy should now be assigned under the care of one of our Team Members. Please double check to make sure your name is on the list. If not, or if you are uncomfortable with the person assigned to you for care, please contact Ann Hutchens and she will make adjustments.
Ministry can be tough and overwhelming at times. I hope you will allow our team to care for you on those occasions when the “going gets rough.” Always know that I am only a phone call away. Please feel free to call me if you need me.
