Mayuris Pimentel
Regional Attorney - Florida JFON (Justice for Our Neighbors)

When Mayuris started law school, she said she would never work in immigration law. She graduated and began serving as an attorney with Legal Aid. In the meantime, her local church, in a poor neighborhood of Camden, New Jersey, kept telling her they wanted to start an immigration ministry and they needed her. Asking questions about faith and the witness of the Church in the world, she was surprised when God called her to attend Wesley Seminary in Washington, DC graduating May 2008 with a Master of Divinity Degree. Mayuris has now answered the call to work as the Regional Attorney with Florida JFON. JFON is a ministry of the United Methodist Committee on Relief and the Conference Refugee Committee that offers free immigration legal services to immigrants. Serving with JFON is a joy for Mayuris because it is faith based. Working with local churches to provide this ministry is important to her. She loves seeing lives changed when she is able to help clients and seeing volunteers put their faith into action.
