This practical-as-potatoes workshop, led by Dr. Jeff Stiggins and Dr. Phil Maynard, is a condensation of the best material from their six one-day workshops on Cultivating More & Better Leaders. It will be highly interactive and involve multi-media tools which you will be able to take back and use in your congregation. Our goal is to help leaders go to the heart of six
critical topics with proven strategies: Cultivating Vital Personal Foundations; Helping Disciples Discern their Calling; Multiplying Congregational Leaders; Partnering for Missional Alignment; Leading Missional Change; Planning Effective Ministry. This training provides an introduction to the unique and important role the faith community plays in disaster mitigation, preparation and response. You and your church will hear practical ideas on how to effectively respond to disaster in your community in cooperation with other churches, emergency management officials and the Disaster Recovery Ministry of the conference. You will understand the importance of communication and collaboration in meeting the needs of disaster survivors and the importance of being the church in the midst of crisis. There is no cost for this training; however, registration is required for planning purposes. Check in begins at 9:30 and lunch is provided.
